Diane Dillon is Assistant Director of Research and Education at the Newberry Library. Her research fields include American art, architecture, and visual culture; world’s fairs; the history of cartography; and Chicago’s history and culture. She is the co-author of Mapping Manifest Destiny: Chicago and the American West and is currently co-curator of an exhibition marking the centennial of the 1909 Plan of Chicago entitled Make Big Plans: Daniel Burnham’s Vision of an American Metropolis. Dillon holds a PhD in the History of Art from Yale University.
