The Library of Congress American Memory Homepage 

American Memory provides free and open access through the Internet to written and spoken words, sound recordings, still and moving images, prints, maps, and sheet music that document the American experience. During the Picturing America conference, Dr. Martha Sandweiss showed various images of "Migrant Mother" housed at the Library of Congress and available at the American Memory Website. Picturing U.S. History

Picturing United States History: An Interactive Resource for Teaching with Visual Evidence is a digital project based on the belief that visual materials are vital to understanding the American past. The website provides online "Lessons in Looking," a guide to Web resources, forums, essays, reviews, and classroom activities to help teachers incorporate visual evidence into their classrooms.
